Sports Without Borders and Solacebase Fridabs have signed  an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to execute projects targeted at the developments of the sports media industry in Nigeria.

The signing ceremony was held last Tuesday at the  corporate headquarters of Solacebase Fridabs Communications limited  along Muritala Muhammad way, Kano.

The duo organizations were represented by the Managing Editor Solacebase,  Abdulteef Abubakar Jos and Executive Director, Sports Without Borders , Abdulgafar Oladimeji.

Abdulateef Jos described the new partnership as a milestone move that would change the face of sports journalism, specifically  in northern Nigeria.

He emphasized on the strategic importance of such partnership, saying  the sporting media is key to attaining the zenith  in  all vital sectors in  the sports industry.

Abdulgafar Oladimeji disclosed that the pact was reached during meetings held in far away , Doha, state of Qatar.

According to him, the sporting media is the soul of sports, the growth  of the sporting press determines the level of success that could be recorded in the sector.

“Nigeria is lacking behind in the area of  sports media development, this is one of the major factors  behind the set back been witnessed in Nigerian sports, we can only begin to address this challenges by providing capacity building for sports media practitioners .

The pact includes capacity building, sports journalism mentorship, internship, sports media partnership  and sourcing for  sports media  development support initiatives  .
