Man ‘O’ War seeks enhanced logistics for effective service delivery

Kano, Dec. 4, 2023 (NAN) Man ‘O’ War Nigeria has called on the Federal Government to provide enhanced logistics for the organization to ensure effective discharge of its duties in the country.
The National Commander of the organization, Mr Sani Depsia made the call during the first National Commanders Conference on Monday in Kano.
Depsia said that the program was organized in commemoration of 2023 United Nation International Volunteers Day.
According to him, there is need to for the federal government to come in and provide logistics and offices to enhance their operations.
“I can assure you, when the needed logistics are provided, Man ‘O’ War as community organization working in grassroot will help in providing intelligence and timely information to security agencies,” he said.
The National Commander further said that issues relating to volunteerism would be discussed and how best the organization would continue to lead in volunteerism in Nigeria.
“We are also going to give appraisal on our services nationwide conference and also plan for the task ahead,” he explained.
He, therefore, called on government establishments, corporate organizations, donor agencies and well meaning Nigerians to support the noble cause of Man ‘O’ War as a vital means of engaging the youths productively.
Earlier the Director General of Citizenship and Leadership Training Center, Adesoji Eniade, said that Man O’ War Nigeria a paramilitary organisation established by the Federal Government through the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre Act as empowered by its enabling ordinance.
Represented by Director Rescue, Dr Alero Abokwara, said the agency saddled with the responsibility to supervise the activities of the Man O’ War is the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Youths with training facilities in each geo-political zone in Nigeria
He said that the Nigerian National Volunteer Service (NNVS) was established this year to improve volunteerism in the country.
Eniade called for more participation of youths in volunteerism in the country.
Also speaking, Senator Abdul Aziz Yar’adua, chairman senate committee on Army, called on Man ‘O’ War to build the capacity of their members.
Represented by Senior Special Adviser to the Senate President on security, Mr Umar Adam, also called on them to engage youths in the society.
Yar’adua reiterated the commitment of the Senate to revitalize the Man O’ War for intelligence gathering to support the fight against insecurity.
In a remark, the Vice Chancellor Aliko Dangote, Prof. Musa Yakasaai, who was decorated as the National Patron of Man ‘O’ War urged youth to participate in volunteer jobs.
Yakasaai who stressed the importance of volunteerism, explained that if Nigerians participate in volunteerism the country would be a better place.
